Diet change – Living with Food Intolerance
If the Food Detective™ test shows any positive reactions, it means you likely have an elevated antibody reaction to that particular food indicating your body’s intolerance to it. Reactions can be mild, moderate or strong. Now that you are aware you may have food intolerances it is advisable we help you eliminate any ‘reactive’ foods from your diet for at least 3 months. If you have a lot of positive results, then it may be too challenging to eliminate all of the foods at once therefore we may advise to:
- avoid the foods with a moderate and strong reaction
- rotate the foods showing a mild reaction
Cutting out certain kinds of food from your diet (possibly some of your favourites) can be daunting at first. Some patients can often feel worse for a few days after eliminating some foods and some foods can be difficult to give up.
It is important that you persevere and we will assist you through these stages by helping you choose substitute foods. There are often more alternatives that than you may think
